Behari Lal Engineering Ltd.'s initial public offering (IPO) is set to make its market debut today, with a grey market premium (GMP) of 47% indicating strong investor expectations for a significant listing gain.

The IPO, which was open for subscription from August 12 to August 14, received an overwhelming response, being subscribed 108.44 times overall.

The retail segment of the IPO was subscribed 53.27 times, while the Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) and Non-Institutional Investors (NII) categories saw even higher demand, with subscriptions of 165.33 times and 165.32 times, respectively. Priced between Rs 271 and Rs 285 per share, the Rs 302-crore IPO included a fresh issue of Rs 93 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 73.20 lakh equity shares valued at approximately Rs 209 crore.

Prior to the IPO, Behari Lal Engineering raised Rs 90.48 crore from anchor investors, allocating 31.75 lakh equity shares at Rs 285 each to prominent investors such as Tata AIA Life Insurance Company, PineBridge Global Funds, and Bandhan Mutual Fund. Emkay Global Financial Services Ltd. served as the book-running lead manager for the issue, with MUFG Intime India Pvt. Ltd. as the registrar.

The company plans to utilize the proceeds from the fresh issue for purchasing and installing equipment and machinery at its manufacturing facilities, installing rooftop solar panels, and repaying certain borrowings. Founded in 1995, Behari Lal Engineering is an integrated iron and steel manufacturer, specializing in precision-engineered components for critical industrial applications.

As of March 31, 2026, the company had served 1,825 domestic and international customers, with a diverse client base including Amba Shakti Industries and BMW Industries. Its manufacturing operations are based in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, and as of May 31, 2026, its order book stood at Rs 1,785.69 million.
