Market Briefing

  • Dilip Buildcon has secured a Rs 1,800 crore project to develop LPG pipeline infrastructure, enhancing transportation efficiency and road safety.
  • The project will be executed over 36 months with a 25-year operation period.

Dilip Buildcon has been awarded an exclusive license by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) to develop LPG pipeline infrastructure valued at Rs 1,800 crore. The project, which spans 36 months, will involve financing, construction, and operation of the pipeline, enhancing LPG transportation efficiency and road safety.

The project will be executed through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) with Dilip Buildcon holding 100% equity. The Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) works are expected to be awarded to DBL, presenting a significant business opportunity. The pipeline will serve as a common carrier for Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), replacing road-based LPG transportation.

Dilip Buildcon's role will focus on developing and operating the pipeline infrastructure while generating revenue through transportation tariffs. The company will not engage in LPG procurement or marketing, thus avoiding associated commercial risks.

The project aims to facilitate the transportation of LPG to bottling plants, thereby improving road safety by reducing tanker traffic. The operation period for the project is set for 25 years.

The company's stock performance has seen a decline of 5.21% over the last month and 11.44% year-to-date, despite a 25.92% gain over the past three years.

Background

This project marks a strategic move for Dilip Buildcon in the energy infrastructure sector, with potential long-term benefits for both the company and the LPG transportation industry.

Investors and stakeholders will be closely monitoring the project's progress and its impact on the company's financial performance.
