Market Briefing

  • Suzlon Energy's Q4 net profit fell 6% YoY to Rs 1,114 crore despite a 45% revenue increase.
  • The company reported strong annual growth in revenue and wind turbine deliveries, driven by rising renewable energy demand.

Suzlon Energy reported a 6% year-on-year decline in net profit to Rs 1,114 crore for the fourth quarter, despite a significant 45% increase in revenue from operations to Rs 5,468 crore. The decline in profit was attributed to rising finance costs and declining EBITDA margins.

The company's EBITDA for the March quarter rose 39% year-on-year to Rs 964 crore, although EBITDA margins fell to 17.6% from 18.4% a year ago. Profit before tax surged to Rs 833 crore from Rs 551 crore in Q4FY25, marking a growth of approximately 51%. However, net finance costs increased to Rs 108 crore from Rs 49 crore a year earlier.

Suzlon delivered 830 MW of wind turbine volumes during the quarter, up from 573 MW in the corresponding quarter last year, reflecting a growth of nearly 45%. On a sequential basis, volumes also increased from 617 MW in Q3.

In alignment with the structural shifts towards clean energy, we have significantly strengthened our financial position to prepare for the next phase of growth. Our flagship S144 platform has already achieved 9 GW of cumulative order intake and the WTG business has delivered 55% CAGR growth over the last three years.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group

For the full financial year FY26, Suzlon's revenue from operations reached Rs 16,679 crore, up 54% from Rs 10,851 crore in FY25. Annual EBITDA jumped 63% to Rs 3,022 crore compared with Rs 1,857 crore in the previous financial year, with EBITDA margins improving to 18.1% from 17.1% a year earlier.

Profit before tax for FY26 stood at Rs 2,422 crore, up 67.4% from Rs 1,447 crore in FY25. Net profit after tax increased to Rs 3,163 crore from Rs 2,072 crore in the previous financial year, showing a growth of around 53%. Annual wind turbine deliveries rose sharply to 2,456 MW compared with 1,550 MW in FY25.

We are happy to deliver highest-ever India annual deliveries at 2.5 GW in FY26, reflecting strong execution across the business. Our healthy orderbook of 9 GW with 66% coming from PSU and C&I segment, we continue to see strong demand for wind energy solutions.
